For more than 25 years, the ADCA has rescued and protected the Dongba pictographic manuscripts in the world, and brought the digitized Dongba ancient book collections stored in various countries back to the old Dongba priests who live in remote Naxi villages and can still interpret Dongba manuscripts. After ADCA Naxiology researchers recorded, translated and catalogued the scriptures. The deciphering process was recorded by the research team using audio-visual anthropology. The ultimate goal of the ADCA is to share digitized Dongba manuscripts with the world.
In order to share the world heritage of the Dongba manuscripts, the ADCA has created a series of anthropological documentaries such as "The Return of Dongba Manuscripts", and "Traditional Naxi Papermaking and the Culture it Transmits", winning the "Best Humanities Documentary Award" at the 10th Paris China Film Festival.
It has also become an important academic research achievement of the China National Social Science Foundation Key Project (No. 12&ZD234).
