Isaak Tirion
Description
Isaak Tirion was a publisher in Amsterdam in the middle of the eighteenth century. He published atlases including several editions of the Nieuwe en beknopte hand-atlas. This map of India east of the river Ganges was part of this atlas. Tirion published almost exclusively in the Dutch language. This map is in Dutch, other than the maps with Latin titles from the sixteenth and seventeenth century, and the maps in French by Van der Aa. The area covered is similar to Van der Aa’s map of 1713. Vietnam is divided in the regions Tunquin, Cochinchina and Ciampa.
