We encountered the Leiden publisher Pieter van der Aa already in the section on atlases. In 1706-1707 he published a collection of 127 travel accounts to the East and West-Indies, titled Naauwkeurige versameling der gedenk-waardigste zee- en landreysen na Oost en West-Indien (Accurate collection of the most memorable sea and land voyages to the East and West Indies). These accounts included many maps that were later separately published as atlases. These Cartes des itineraires et voïages modernes include maps of South- and Southeast-Asia, some of which focus more on the Indonesian archipelago, others more on India and the Bay of Bengal. Contrary to the atlas maps, these itinerary maps have Dutch titles.
