Kina Balu (or Kinabalu) is the highest mountain in the north of Kalimantan, at one time part of the British dominions, now part of Malaysia. The book describes the fauna in that region, which, of course, is not limited to that region but can be found in other parts of Kalimantan as well.
John Whitehead visited beside Kalimantan a number of different Indonesian islands such as Java.
